et’s face it. Does anyone really know what the actual 2020 summer trends are? We are slightly getting back to normality and there will be the day when you will be invited to a party or a house gathering. The question is; Do you know what you are going to wear? Don’t worry, The A-Z Bible has got you covered. The good news are that you already have most of these items in your wardrobe from last summer’s trends. Just mix and match, experiment! But also feel tempted to get some new pieces to achieve the total look and look your best. A bit of a hint, this year is very retro and we are loving it!
Are you ready to rock it?
Below you will be able to find what the top summer trends and what are the most trendy colours based upon runways and the glimpse of street style that we have been able to see so far.
The clothing trends for the summer of 2020 will be:
1. Retro Chic
This summer we are feeling extremely Vintage- inspired. Most of the trends that we will be seeing are a complete throwback and a nostalgia cycle. From the revival of the ”Flower Power” to the reappearance of the classic spaghetti straps and asymmetrical designs.
2 . Puffed sleeves
We just can’t get enough of this trend! It is almost impossible to scroll down on Instagram or Pinterest without seeing puff- sleeved pieces. If you think about it the look has been around for centuries, taking us back to the 1800’s and now it has been taken to the extra mile. Do you remember back in 2019 when we all wanted to own one of these dramatic yet romantic dresses or blouses? This is probably one of the most worn and safe go to look for this summer. With this statement piece you simply can’t go wrong.
3. Giant Florals
Flower- Power is back! It has been taking over the runways, offering an explosion of floral prints combining giant florals clashing with hue colours and textured styled prints.
4. The Bohemian
When it comes to Bohemian- inspired , Etro is the synonymous of this trend and has been preserving it since the conception of the brand in 1968. This long sleeved v- neck is a must for this summer, specially during those breezed summer nights at the beach. We are also obsessed with the bohemian blowy dresses with ruffles and paisley prints.
5. Broderie Anglaise
Of course, when it comes to embroidery, there is not a better fashion house than Zimmermann, which has the gift of always creating the most classic and timeless pieces. The Broderie Anglaise has adopted a new twist by creating more irregular patterns. Previously, in past runways we have seen this trend but with smaller embroidery patterns which would create a more covered look. However, this year the trend looks even fresher because of it’s larger designs .
6. Tie Dye
Just in case if you did’t noticed, tie-dye is THE TREND. It has exploded over the past few months, to the extent that people have been entertaining themselves by creating their own tie-dye styles. We can agree that this trend is all about the combination of the colours. The A-Z Bible is particularly drawn by the mix and match of pastel colours. Have you seen the MSGM shorts? Absolute favourite. Have you tried to tie-dye at home? If you are feeling adventurous the A-Z Bible created this Step- by- step guide which we hope will help you to craft your own.

The tie-dye can be incorporated in anything, wether bikinis, bucket hats, t-shirts and flowy dresses, we will keep seeing this during the summer.
7. Sheer Layers
Sheer layers are great for layering and creating different dimensions or structures. The semi- sheer constructions and textures produce this youthful, jolly and flowy look which you won’t want to let it pass you by this summer.
Season revival, bralettes could not be more summery. They automatically make you want to book your holidays to somewhere warm and tropical. They look fabulous when combined with high waisted pieces, such as jeans or skirts and it is a trend that we were really wanting to come back since 2014.
This is the newest and versatile phenomenon that we have been able to appreciate during the 2020 spring- summer runways. The adjustable strings grant you to use your imagination and to be more creative with your layering, by creating more voluminous pieces. It could not be cooler.
10. Spaghetti Straps
Seems like a classic from the 90’s trend is coming back stronger than ever! The almost unnoticed straps are so easy to combine and worn with, well, anything really. Wether animal print, lace or satin material, take your pick, it would be almost rude to not get one of these tops for this summer. What do you think about the Liu Jo caramel lace top combined with short blue jeans?
